If you have to wait up to 5 minutes between sets, then wait 5 minutes between sets. SL5x5 feels like it's designed to cause people to fail out, but that feels bad so people cheat. If you are using proper form and being spotted or bailing out correctly nothing bad can happen. (This isn't for you specifically because you are so far in) it starts you at a very very light weight, double the recommended increase for every gym visit (if it's 2.5, increase by 5, if 5 increase by 10) until you fail out. Here is my advice based on my experience. I have never been stronger than when I did SL5X5, so I really do recommend running all the way through it at least once.
